On Sunday my town had an Independence Day Celebration on the square down town. I volunteered to take pictures before and after church. I had hoped to stay to the end of the celebration at 5pm but unfortunately I got a bit too much sun and had to leave around 3pm.
The first pictures are of early morning when the "Tour DeWitt" bike ride kicked off. Then I left for church and came back around 12:30 or so after church. Even though I got sunburn and a touch of sun poisoning, as well as my fibromyalgia not liking me, I had a great time and am sure this will become an annual event.
Registering for the ride.
Getting ready for the start.
Lining up, almost ready to take off. Better them than me, LOL.
And they're off. The Radio Flyer Car is leading them out of town.
See ya in a few hours!!
DeWitt County Sheriff Jered Schofner in the dunk tank,,, boy was that water cold!!
Folks admiring the new water fountain Patrick Peterson designed. Its on the square downtown, so very pretty!!
The kids enjoyed the face painting.
Pie eating contest. There was also watermelon eating contests, bed races and a variety of activities.
Some of the live entertainment included Ron Devore and Modern Cowboyz
It was a great day and enjoyed by many.
Shout out of a job well done goes to the Clinton Celebration Committee!! This is just a few of the nearly 200 pictures I took. There were also other photographers taking pictures of the event for the committee. I am sure they will have a great selection of pictures to go through.
Happy Birthday America!!!
Until next time,,,,,,,,Blessings!
